“What?” you say. “Someone already created this playlist,” you say. “His name is Zach Braff!”
That’s right! Just because I create posts (sporadically) for a blog (if that’s what you want to call it) doesn’t mean I am the authority on a fall playlist, or that I have the time or patience to create one. In fact, some of the best playlists ever created are movie soundtracks. That’s just my humble opinion, of course. Garden State, also in my opinion is one of the best movie soundtracks to be presented to us within the last 20 years. It also perfectly captures (in my humble opinion) the sounds and feel of Fall. The two stellar tracks by The Shins, or Nick Drake’s One of These Things First all capture the season perfectly. As I listen to The Only Living Boy in New York by Simon & Garfunkel I imagine walking with my family through Central Park wearing a corduroy sport jacket and suede brogues; my daughter and I laughing as we crunch leaves under our feet. This is my favorite time of year in New York City. Even though the movie of the soundtrack takes place in our neighboring state of New Jersey it still resonates perfectly.
