I’ve been writing a lot lately about music. This is strange for me considering for the past few years I haven’t really kept up with a lot of new music aside from what my wife was listening to, or to the song of the summer that you just can’t escape. However, there have been some recent new releases by artists I’ve been enjoying for years (Iggy Pop, Pete Yorn, Violent Femmes) and others I’m just starting to appreciate (Macklemore, Leon Bridges, Cage The Elephant.) I haven’t done a playlist in a while, and thought this was the right time to change that. I’m especially enjoying the collaboration between Iggy Pop & Josh Homme. Album releases this Thursday, and for the first time in a long time I am really looking forward to a new album. Tonight I’m headed to Irving Plaza to see Pete Yorn in support of his new album, Arranging Time. I included the track, Lost Weekend. We also get a visit from a long gone friend, Jeff Buckley. It’s a mix of fun, fresh listening – Jack of Clubs style. And speaking of style, I’ll be back next week with a new Closet Essentials installment.
